Ziel der Tagung ist es die Facetten der Kommunikation im Bereich der Lebensmittelsensorik zu beleuchten und Sensorik-Verantwortlichen anzuregen und ihnen hilfreiche Tipps für ihre praktische Arbeit an die Hand zu geben.

 

Sprache und Kommunikation spielen in der Lebensmittelsensorik eine besondere Rolle.
Auf allen Ebenen des Produktions- und Vermarktungsprozesses gilt es die sinnliche Wahrnehmung in verbale Sprache zu übersetzen. Dies stellt Produktentwicklung, Qualitätssicherung, Marktforschung und Marketing in der täglichen Arbeit vor Herausforderungen: Im Unternehmen muss die sensorische Kommunikation, d. h. der Austausch über Methoden, Projekte oder Produktprofile, bereichsübergreifend funktionieren, damit vom Produktentwickler bis zum Marketing-Experten alle die gleiche Sprache sprechen.

UNIBO SUMMER SCHOOL: "Writing on Food. How to publish in high impact factor journals: the keys to success, with daily writing exercises”

The Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences at Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna (Italy) in collaboration with Elsevier is organizing the 2016 Writing Workshop  entitled "Writing on Food. How to publish in high impact factor journals: the keys to success, with daily writing exercises”. 

 

This five-day course is a practical workshop that will provide information, expert advice and practical experience on how to submit a paper in food science to a high-quality, peer-reviewed science journal – and increase the chances for getting it published. All participants will work on their own draft manuscripts for potential submission to a scientific food-science journal.

 

The target audience will be graduate students, PhD candidates and post-docs in food science (or in related disciplines such as food economy), along with any other interested individuals (e.g. faculty members). 

 

The course will be taught by Dr Judith Crews (Executive Editor, Journal of Food Composition and Analysis) under the co-ordination of Professor Tullia Gallina Toschi (Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna).

Assessment of Commercial Quality Grades of Meat Animals in a Global Market (English)

The 6th International Summer School on Meat Research will be held from 20 to 23 September 2016 at the Max Rubner-Institut in Kulmbach, Germany.

 

The theme of this year´s Summer School is the "Assessment of commercial quality grades of meat animals in a global market".

 

The Summer School will give an overview on current market developments and important meat standards such as UN/ECE, USDA and EUROP grading standards. Theoretical principles will be deepened by practical exercises and demonstrations of grading techniques with focus on new initiatives and modern technologies. The use and production of edible insects and slaughter by-products shows an example for sustainable use of renewable resources.

 

For those from research or industry interested in the topic, you are welcome to apply for participation in this year’s Summer School, which is in addition an excellent platform for international networking.

4th International Advanced Course

The Graduate School VLAG in cooperation with Wageningen university (division of human nutrition), organises the 4th international advanced course on exposure assessement in nutrition research. Lectures will be held at Wageningen university, starting on August 29, 2016 and ending on September 02, 2016.

 

The course will address methodological aspects of exposure assessment in nutrition and related fields of biomedical research. It consists of a series of lectures, supported by computer-assisted exercises. Also, discussions on exposure assessment in the participant’s own research will be part of the programme.
After participation the participant:

  • Is able to make a well-informed choice from different methods of exposure assessment;
  • Has insight in sources of measurement errors, consequences for exposure assessment, impact on associations observed, and methods to account for these errors;
  • Is able to design and analyse evaluation studies, and to quantitatively present and interpret their results;
  • Is able to critically evaluate exposure assessment in nutrition and related fields of biomedical research.
